GEORGE HOLDING - B: 1815 GREENWICH, KENT, ENGLAND D: 1898 ?
I know that George Holding had a daughter called Elizabeth Ann Holding, who was born in Bermondsey in 1834. She died in 1901 after being married to Henry Bartlett Burnett B:1828 - D:1906 and having a number of children.
The information I require is the name of George Holdings wife who is the mother of Elizabeth Ann. I am also unsure of his parents names as I have not been able to nail down the correct details in birth, baptism and christening records.
The George Holding who appear in various searches and census records detailed as a "Ship or shipping agent", is not the man, as the correct man was a humble "Carrier" by trade, as detailed on his daughters marriage certificate.
I believe he probably resided in Greenwich and the surrounding areas all his life, although I am finding it hard to find any reference to him. However , he may have moved the short distance to London to find work, and there are various references to a George Holding of the same age being admitted and discharged many times from work houses in Fulham and Westminster when he was in his early 70's.
Any help in tracing him would be very much appreciated.
